Djerba: a wonderful isle

Djerba, it is a wonderful isle. We stayed in the hotel “Hasdrubal Prestige Thalassa & Spa”. It was astonishing. A real paradise if you ask me.  We have done a lot of things. In so doing we got to know the inhabitants.
They are very hospitable and friendly. Djerba is one of Tunisia’s most popular places for tourists.

But I deviate from what I actually wanted to say, something about what we have done.

First of all we went to the crocodile farm. Everyone liked it, except me. I am really scared of those animals. I was glad when we went out. But I have to admit if you want to do something special, it is the place to be.

Beside it, we also went to the Museum of Guellala. This museum is known for its exterior infrastructure. It is made from a famous white stone which is found in Africa. The Museum of Guellala is illustrated and explained in the history and traditions of Djerba.
When we arrived the building was as in a fairytale. It was really beautiful.

Next to that we have also enjoyed the beaches, the azure blue waters and the palm trees.

In Houmt Souq, the capital of Djerba, we also went to a market. The market is situated in the center. On the market you can find a lot of products, like: spices, vegetables, fruit, fish, and so on.
Over there we also went for shopping. You can find shops with some small souvenirs, carpets, jewelry,…

Finally we have done a quad tour. Some of us were a little scared, but I really enjoyed it. I like to have some adventure. It was something I have never done before. Besides it was lovely to have a view over the landscape.

I can’t say anything negative about Djerba. I can’t wait to go further with our trip.

  1. Haha I still remember your face when we visited the crocodile farm! It was like "aaaah they're going to eat me!"
Sorry to laugh but you should have seen your face! I have to say, I am still fascinated by crocodiles. I didn't imagine them to be so big!
Once again, an experience I will never forget
